Marsha Seltz, Board Chair

Marsha currently serves as Board Chair of J-HAP. She has been a board member since 2017 and was named Board Chair in 2019. Marsha brings more than 35 years of leadership experience as a principal, union negotiator, teacher and instructional developer at the Minneapolis Public Schools.

Marsha’s daughter is a tenant at Cornerstone Creek. She and her family are members at Temple Israel. Marsha served on Temple Israel Sisterhood’s Board and continues to oversee Sisterhood’s partnership with the Jeremiah Project, a non-profit organization which houses and helps single mothers and their children end the cycle of poverty.

Shortly after her child was born with Down Syndrome, 30 years ago, Linda began actively advocating for people with special needs. She founded J-HAP in 2010, and has served as its Board President. In that role she has overseen every phase of co-development of Cornerstone Creek as well as development of J-HAP’s progressive amenities. Today, as President of the Board Emeritus, she continues to watch over and contribute to J-HAP’s growth.

Other Roles in the Community

Linda is a former board member of the Sabes JCC, St. David’s Center for Child and Family Development, Twin Cities Down Syndrome Association, and the Special Education Advisory Committee for the Hopkins School District. She has also co-chaired the Inclusion Committee for People with Special Needs at the Sabes JCC, and the Building Accessibility Committee at Beth El Synagogue.

She is an active member of ARC, National Down Syndrome Association, Reach for Resources, Sabes JCC, Beth El Synagogue and has been involved in numerous committees for inclusion of people with disabilities.

When Linda is away from the office she enjoys travelling, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
