J-HAP’s Mission

J-HAP creates caring, safe and inclusive communities where adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities build independent lives filled with meaningful experiences and relationships

Inclusion

J-HAP provides opportunities for tenants and members of the surrounding community to come together.

Independence

Tenants pay rent to the leasing company/building owner, control their finances, and decide how much outside staff support they need.

Opportunity

Tenants live life to the fullest through choice-based experiences such as social outings, classes, spiritual activities, and health and wellness activities.

Community

Our volunteers and supporters bring it all together. J-HAP donors help us create inclusive experiences for tenants and community members, both inside and outside Cornerstone Creek.

J-HAP’s Values and Guiding Principles

Dignity

We uphold the dignity of every person, respecting each individual for who they are and what they hope for in their lives.

Potential

We honor the ability of all adults with developmental disabilities to live full, rich lives.

Independence

We believe that people flourish when given the opportunity to live in an environment that fosters their autonomy and growth.

Community

We believe in the power of community to support, enrich and transform people’s lives.

Jewish Culture

We embrace our connection to Jewish culture and embed it within our programs and community.

Inclusion

We value diversity and welcome all adults with developmental disabilities, their families and the broader community.

Opportunity

We believe that adults with developmental disabilities grow intellectually, emotionally and socially when they have access to varied, stimulating and meaningful opportunities.

Beauty and Warmth

We know that place matters. We create beautiful, warm and welcoming spaces where people can gather to learn, relax and feel a part of a community.

Safety

We recognize the potential vulnerability of adults with developmental disabilities and are committed to supporting their physical and emotional well-being.

Expanding Boundaries

We claim our responsibility to inspire change in how the broader community views, values, and gives voice to adults with developmental disabilities.
